Composting Toilet
We are managing bio-solids or 'humanure' with the first permitted urban composting toilet in the US. Permitted by City of Austin Waste Water, the toilet structure is designed to inhibit run-off water from entering the composting chamber. It takes about one year for the biosolids to cook all of the materials and turn them into safe, useable soil for decorative landscaping.
Ecology Action is Austin's downtown recycling center. We are located at 9th Street and IH-35. We are open to drop recycling materials 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (Please don't leave materials we do not take after hours). We are staffed 9am-5pm, 7 days a week except on major holidays and May Day (May 1st).
