Zero Waste...or Darn Close Contest!!! Enter Now to win fun prizes and reduce your ecological footprint.

Ecology Action has partnered with Texas Campaign for the Environment as well as several local governmental organizations and businesses to bring you the RACE to ZERO WASTE. WE want your home, office, school, place of worship, etc to take the challenge for the next three months and see who can come up with the best example of zero waste practices. WE want videos, pictures, stories, drawings, etc. Prizes include a re-use spree to Texas Disposal Systems organics, Habitat for Humanity, Treasure City Thrift, a computer for Goodwills' Computer Works, a Bicycle from Austin Yellow Bike Project, or a dell notebook.

Judges, include former University of Texas football coach Darrell Royal and elected officials from across the region, they will rate entries based on creativity and ingenuity, as well as on the impact the changes make on waste output. Participants will be encouraged to photograph their methods, progress and results and obtain testimonials from others. Ideas for reducing waste include recycling, composting, and reusing products that might otherwise be trashed.
