Circle Acres is a 10 acre nature preserve and green infrastructure demonstration site. Ecology Action is working to clean and protect the land here, which has suffered decades of destructive uses as a quarry, landfill and illegal dumping site - but is now becoming a beautiful natural resource for the surrounding Montopolis neighborhood, and all of Austin!
Volunteer days involve maintaining walking trails, removing litter, and making green infrastructure improvements to storm-water access points like culverts and tributary breaches. We may also assist Myco Alliance with their bioremediation research station.
Bring water and dress for the weather with sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
Entrances to Circle Acres are located off of Grove Boulevard (just before the entrance to Roy G. Guerrero Park) & 420 Kemp Street (look for the big concrete letters) in the Montopolis neighborhood. Please park in the parking lot at Roy G. or on Kemp Street.
